Life is full of meaningful moments. Celebrating milestones helps bring an awareness of Godâ€™s presence into the home and highlights the rituals of daily life experiences.

Taking care of an aging parent is not easy. Recognizing this milestone in the lives of those who have taken on the role of caregiver for an aging parent is important. Whether the choice is to move a parent to a long-term care residence or provide a space and setting in oneâ€™s own home, there is a need for a support system.

This Aging Parent Milestone helps participants recognize this time in their lives as â€œlife changingâ€ for both the parent and the adult child and includes involvement from the faith community to uplift, bless, and help support these individuals and their families.

This milestone includes the Four Keys for practicing faith outline which encourages the connection between home and congregation. A simple five-step structure is also included to intentionally invite the faith community to recognize the milestone and celebrate it together to establish a solid base for community outreach.
