The Feast of
the Epiphany is celebrated on the 6th of January each year. This Feast of the Epiphany Milestone Moment provides
an opportunity for family and friends to gather together to celebrate this
Christian holiday commemorating the manifestation of Jesus Christ to the
Gentiles, represented by the Magi.
Epiphany Day
is a special time when people gather together to share special pastries, mark
door lintels with the Magi’s blessing, and worship with lighted candles.
Children are often presented small gifts in their shoes in honor of the Magi’s
gifts to the baby Jesus. It is a time for Christians to remember the appearance
of the light of the world and bless their homes for the Lord’s service in the
coming year.
This Milestone Moment includes a Four Key Faith Practices outline which
encourages growing in our faith by recognizing the home and family gatherings as
church, too. A simple five-step structure is also included to establish a solid
base for faith formation and development.
